Explain what you would like us to do and give enough context to locate the information, such as the email address used for your enquiry, the approximate date or the relevant event. You do not need to quote legislation or use a special form. Please do not send identity documents unless we ask for information that is necessary to verify a request.

• Access: ask whether we hold your personal data and request a copy and information about its use.
• Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate information or complete an incomplete record.
• Erasure: ask for deletion where a legal right to erasure applies.
• Restriction: ask us to limit use of information in the circumstances provided by law.
• Portability: request certain information you supplied in a usable electronic format where the legal conditions apply.
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests, and object to direct marketing at any time.
• Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent for processing that depends on it, without changing whether earlier processing was lawful.

These rights depend on the purpose and legal basis of the processing. For example, a legal requirement or a need to deal with a legal claim may affect whether a particular record can be deleted.

We may need to clarify your request or verify your identity before sharing personal information. Any verification should be proportionate to the information involved.

The GDPR generally requires a response without undue delay and within one month. For a complex request, or several requests, the law can allow up to two additional months; any extension and its reason must be explained within the first month. Requests are generally free, subject to the limited exceptions in the GDPR.

For some events, PRECISE handles registration information on behalf of the organisation running the event. The event’s privacy notice identifies the organisation responsible for deciding how that information is used. Include the event name in your request so the appropriate organisation and records can be identified.
