The shape of the guest experience
Programme design considers how the different parts of an event fit into the time guests spend together.
That can include meeting sessions, dining, cultural experiences, activities and movement between settings. The balance depends on the brief: an executive incentive and a working conference will have different priorities.
Our team contributes its event expertise to the design, and a dedicated Event Manager manages the programme through to delivery on the day. Venue choices, production and guest arrangements form part of that wider picture.
Making room for different kinds of interaction
A programme can move between focused work and time for people to spend together more informally.
At the Engineering Leadership Summit, the agenda combined conference content with refreshment breaks, networking, an off-site dinner and a team activity. The client brief called for business sessions alongside opportunities for interaction.
For the Emerald incentive, the design brought a US executive group through Dublin, Howth and Wicklow. Private tours, cultural visits, countryside experiences and dining gave the itinerary its variety, with transportation and on-site coordination supporting the journey.
Connecting a programme across locations
Changing destination introduces another part of the experience to plan.
Our Sydney and Melbourne incentive paired two cities within the same programme. Accommodation at Hyatt Regency Sydney and The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne sat alongside cultural experiences, private visits and dining.
The brief required a cohesive journey across both cities. We designed and delivered the programme with attention to the transition between locations and the balance of experiences within each. For groups coming here, our Ireland destination management service brings that programme approach to local settings.
Shaping your programme
You can begin with the purpose of the event and the people it is for.
What do you mean by event programme design?
It is the design of the event experience and itinerary: what happens, how its different parts relate, and how guests move through the programme. Our work includes conferences, incentives and programmes combining business sessions with cultural or social experiences.
Who manages the programme on the day?
Each programme has a dedicated Event Manager appointed to manage the process and be there on the day. The wider team contributes its expertise to the design and delivery.
Can you develop a programme around an initial idea?
Yes. We customise programmes around the client's requirements. Share your objectives, the group, dates, destination ideas and the experience you have in mind through the enquiry form.
